Electrical Safety Rules To Be Generally Followed

Beneath are the Safety rules listed which are to be followed generally

  • Do not work when you are tired or taking medicines that make you drowsy
  • Do not work in poor light
  • Do not work in damp areas
  • Do not work on unfamiliar circuits
  • Do not removes grounds
  • Do not open or close switch hesitantly
  • Do not use wires with poor insulation
  • Do not shift any appliance with switch in ON condition
  • Do not replace bulb or other equipment with switch in ON condition
  • Do not throw water on live electrical apparatus in case of fire. use extinguisher
  • Check the electrical equipment specifications
  • Use approved tools , equipment  and protective devices
  • Remove all metal items  when  working around exposed circuits
  • Never assume circuit is off , double check it
  • Keep all tools and test equipment in good working condition
  • Only work on areas which you are qualified
  • Have a action plan and safety plan before you begin your work
  • Review your assignment and safety plan with your supervisor
  • Remove jewellery and metal objects while working
  • Protect your tools from heat , oil and wet
  • Wear proper hat and foot protection
  • Use properly insulated mats
  • Use the appropriate insulated gloves
